CLYR Type is built to keep your writing entirely private. The short version: the app collects nothing about you, and your words never leave your Mac.

In one line: CLYR Type has no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads, and no network access. Everything you write stays on your device.

No data collection

CLYR Type does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There are no user accounts, no usage analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs bundled in the app.

Your documents stay on your Mac

Every file you open, edit, or create stays on your device and in the locations you choose — for example a local folder, an external drive, or iCloud Drive managed by macOS. CLYR Type only accesses files you explicitly open or save, and it never uploads or transmits your file contents anywhere.

Settings are stored locally

Your preferences — such as theme, font, typography, and display options — are saved locally on your Mac by macOS. They never leave your device.

No network access

CLYR Type runs inside the macOS App Sandbox and ships without network access. The app does not connect to our servers or to any third party.

System features

Features provided by macOS that you choose to use — such as spell checking, autocorrect, or Writing Tools — are handled by Apple and are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not by CLYR Type.

Purchases

CLYR Type is free to download. If it offers in-app purchases, they are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your payment details.

Children's privacy

CLYR Type does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
